New Years Eve past

It is that time of year to look back and reflect.   It is also that time to start making New Years resolutions.  I myself have never been able to keep any.  Today I had planned on setting my kitchen table for the festivities tonight but I find myself coming down with a slight heat cold so I will be lucky to even make it to midnight.

Here is a couple of my past tablescapes.  This one is from our previous house.

This is from last year in our current house.

I am disappointed that I didn't get my table done this year.  I had big plans for it.  Oh well I guess it will keep until next year.

Wishing every a safe and Happy New Year!

Time to look back at my most popular posts for this year.  I wish I could have gotten more posts done this year but I found myself doing more yard work then I had planned.  My New Year's resolution is to get more projects done around the house and do more crafts.

Christmas Home Tour

I have finally gotten around to posting my Christmas Home Tour.  I say better late than never.  Let's start with the front porch.
As you come up to my front porch you are welcomed by the urns and lanterns.

Off to the right of the door is my bench.

Please step on up to my front door.

As you enter my home you are welcomed by my foyer.  Straight ahead is the staircase with  my bench.

To the left is my fun Santa display.

To the right is my entry table with some Santa boots.

I added greenery on the staircase railing.  I added the berries and decorations to the garland after I put it up.  It is hard to get a good picture of my stairs with the column blocking the view.  I turned the lights on the garland for these pictures.

I like to decorate this chair that I have by my china cabinet.

Nutcrackers are in the dining room.

The kitchen is more whimsical.

The family room fireplace went more elegant.

The tree is in the formal living room since that room is vaulted.

Thank you for stopping by and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Let it snow

Saturday morning I woke up to 12 inches of snow and a balmy high of 6 degrees.  Today was a little better being in the low 20's but not enough for me to want to venture out.  We spent about an hour yesterday removing the snow from our 5000 + square foot driveway so today I just wanted to sit and watch tv.  I did get a few pictures this afternoon of the snow and how pretty it looks on our evergreen trees.

I thought it would look pretty to put a chair by the gate.

The sun goes down pretty early here with the foothills behind our house so my pictures turned out a little dark.

I already had the wreath on the gate for the holiday season and added the chair with the throw and the pillow.

I am glad that it snowed on the weekend as I hate to drive in this weather.  The good news is that it will be warmer this coming week.  The bad news is there is more snow in the forecast for Christmas weekend.

Christmas kitchen tour

For my kitchen I did a green, red and white theme with some black on the kitchen table.  I layered my plates first with my black scroll charger.  Then I added a plate plaid.  Next a white plate and last with my chalkboard look salad plates that have different sayings.

Each place setting has a different ornament placed on the napkins.

I also added a chalkboard ornament on top of a red jingle bell napkins holder.

I thought I would add this cute little mail box planter for the centerpiece.

I love this sign.  It goes well with the table setting.

The kitchen island is more playful with Santa and some reindeer.

Just a touch of winter on top of the refrigerator with some bottle brush trees and a enamel pitcher with berries and greenery.

The corner sink got a little bit of Christmas even with the pesky faucet in the way.
