Christmas sneak peek

I tried really hard to get most of my Christmas decorating done this weekend but as usual it didn't happen.  I spent most of Saturday taking down all the Fall decor and putting it away in the basement and having to get all of the Christmas bins out of the basement storage room and put them upstairs.  I was able to get the Family room fireplace done and the hutch in the formal living room.  Today I am sharing the hutch since the Family isn't all the way done yet.

I like to do a Winter Wonderland theme here since I have white and silver with crystal items here.

The two trees on top of the hutch light up on timers.

I still need to bring up my huge tree up from the basement.  I will be doing that this coming weekend. it usually takes me most of the day to get it decorated. I will be pushing myself to get the rest of the house done by this weekend.

Master closet is finally done

I finally got the master closet done on Saturday and started putting things back on Sunday.  I still have a few more items to put in the closet which I should get done either tonight or tomorrow night.  Here is how it turned out.

This picture is what you see when you first step into the closet.

Next is the area to the right of the first picture.

And now continuing on to the next wall.

Next is the two towers to the right of the hanging in the last picture.

The next picture is how the wall looks by the door when you walk in.

For the two corner units I used some bead board wallpaper on the wall behind them.  They don't come with any backboards so I thought the wallpaper would dress them up.  It's not easy to get it to show up in the pictures.  This picture was the best.

I have all my hanging clothes in and am still working on filling up the shelves and drawers.  I have two dressers in the master bedroom and was able to empty one into the closet.  I am wanting to get new furniture soon and I only want to get one dresser this time.  Right now our second dresser has to be in front of a window.

It's that time of year again

I don't know about you but I like to start listening to Christmas music the first of November.  It relaxes me and gets me in the mood to decorate.  I have already picked up a few new items for this year.

The Santa and the lantern are from Pier 1 and the snowman head is from Kirkland's. I wanted two of the lanterns but they only had one in the store so I ordered another online.

The Santa is from Pier 1, the Merry Christmas sign is from Kirkland's and the snow globe is from HomeGoods

I love this snow globe. It is battery operated and it blows the snow every few seconds.  It has a four hour timer or you can just leave it on.

I will be using this Santa for my woodland theme that I am going to do in my basement this year.

The rest of the items I will probably use in my formal living room or the entry.
