Best of 2017

It seems like this week is flying by.  We decided to take the week off between Christmas and New Years to get the store inventory done. I was hoping to be a little more productive this week around the house but at this point I don't think that is going to happen.

We did get some furniture purchased for the basement but it is on back order and we have to wait until the end of January for it to be delivered.  I have been waiting two years to get furniture down there so I guess another month won't hurt me. It will give me some time to finish my projects in the basement before the furniture arrives.

I thought it would be fun to take a look back at my top 10 posts of 2017 and see which were the most popular with everyone.  Let's get on with the count down.

With the new year around the corner I am hoping to get some more projects done.  I guess I had better get busy with taking down all the Christmas decor so I can get started.

Happy New Year!

Christmas Home Tour 2017

I am so glad that you can join me today.  Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour.  As you can see we are starting off with the front porch.  Up by the door is my favorite little bench.

I also wanted to share some of the decor before you step onto the porch.  Below I have added some winter greenery to my large urns.

The garage also has a bit of Christmas with some more urns and some wreaths above each door.

Now let's head on up to the door and visit for a while.

Welcome to my home.  The first stop we will be making is the ledge next to the door.  Say hello to my new Santa and his friends.

A little further ahead on the right is my vintage shoe bench that I grew up with. I love to decorate it for the seasons.

To the left of the entry way is our formal living room.  The east side is decorated with red, green and white.

Here is a close up of the hutch and the table by the tree.

Now for a close up of the tree.  It takes me a few hours to get this 9 foot tree decorated,

The west side of the room has a  winter wonderland theme.

To the right of the formal living room is the dining room.  I have a plaid theme going on in here.

On the other side of the dining room wall is the kitchen.  The kitchen has a candy theme.

The family room is right off of the kitchen and since I have brown furniture it received a gold, silver and bronze theme.

I hope that you enjoyed the tour and please come again and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas on the front porch 2017

I finished getting the Christmas decorating done on the front porch Sunday.  Better late then never I say.  So let's take a look and see how it turned out.

I added winter greenery to the urns and lanterns.  I also put my large Santa boots planter on the right side.

The only are area on the porch that I decorated this year is the small bench.

I also added winter greenery to the urns by my garage doors.  I also added a wreath above each door.

I thought I would share with you how long my driveway is.  As you can see we are pretty far up from the street.  You can still see some of the snow from the other day on the South side of the driveway.  With all the tall evergreen trees that we have it stays pretty shaded and the snow takes a long time to melt.
