I am ready to give up

House hunting sucks!  It seems like the only homes coming up for sale are townhomes, small homes or homes way out of our price range.   When one does come on the market that looks promising it always seems to fall short when I see it in person.  I still see the house that got away and always compare all the homes I see to it.  I was really looking forward to getting that house and redoing it.  For the first time I was going to be able to design my own kitchen.  I have always had to live with someone else's kitchen.  Oh sure I have been able to change out appliances, counter tops and back splashes but I never get to change out the cabinets.  Our current home I painted to cabinets as I don't care for oak cabinets.

I have been depressed lately as I have nothing to do but sit around.  I packed all my decorating dishes away and have been keeping the house clean.  I think that I am going to unpack the dishes and start redecorating again.  At this point I don't see us moving anytime soon so why should I be unhappy.  I have an idea for an area in our backyard that I am hoping to get done on Saturday.

  1. For sixteen years I worked in office administration at a Real Estate coompany. Many times I would see disappointed clients despairing over losing out on that perfect house. The owner of the business would always tell them to be patient a more perfect home just for them would come along soon. And it always did! You will see that will happen for you too...just keep looking knowing that home is there waiting for you...

    1. Thank you Sandy. The problem is my husband. He always has to have a newer home with high ceilings. I myself like older homes. They tend to have mature landscaping and more character to the home. At first he really wanted that house but then he changed his mind because of all the work that needed to be done. I am just wanting to move before Fall as I always host Thanksgiving and I want my house to be in order by then.

  2. I had to go back through your archives to see what happened. I hope a home that's just right for you will pop up soon and everything will work out.

    1. Thank you Liz. We looked a few that would probably work but since we are not in a hurry I want to find the perfect one. We normally sell ours first and then frantically look for a new house and usually have to settle for the best that is out there at the time. This time we are going to find the house first and then put ours on the market.
