Boring garage doors?

It's easy to fix boring garage doors.  I would love to have beautiful wooden doors but I don't want to spend that kind of money on my current house.  I will save them for my forever home.  So for right now we installed these.  They don't cost much and I was able to get them on sale.  You can't beat $6.46 each.  Even at the regular price of $12.88 that's a bargain.

Here is the before.

And now a close up of the after.

My hubby did the install in less than 10 minutes.  The transformation is amazing.  It's makes great curb appeal.  I also took a few shots of the front garden area.  Not all of my flowers are blooming yet. Please ignore the ADT sign.

We are finally getting the back deck cover going.  Everything has been approved by the county.  I just hope I get to enjoy my deck this summer.  Wishing everyone a happy weekend.

  11. Years ago, I painted that hardware and the look of windows on our garage doors and it was a good look that lasted till be bought new doors since we built another new two car garage. Your house looks lovely and the hardware really adds to these doors. Another Idea is an arbor over the double car garage. We put them on our new garage that you can see here and since you have so much upper space, it would really look awesome. I just bought the kit on Amazon! http://foreverdecorating.blogspot.com/2012/12/my-best-of-2012.html

    1. I love the look of an arbor above garage doors however I don't think that our HOA would approve. They are very strict in our neighborhood. I had to get these approved before we installed them. Luckily a couple of the houses already had some. That will be something to do for our forever home that is not in a strict HOA.

  14. What an awesome transformation! We're in the process of ordering a new garage door since ours is so old. We definitely need an upgrade.....but after being told that the company's hardware was $15 a piece, I'm going to order the doors w/out the hardware and install it myself! Thanks for sharing!

  15. That's a great idea. It's amazing what a little decoration can do to a garage door. At first glance, it looks like you got completely new doors. The problem with garage doors is that they are so large and are usually at the front of a house. So they are often the first things people see, yet nice garages are so expensive as you said. Adornments like these are an excellent way to spruce up the look without breaking the bank.

This is awesome transformation, and a wanna have garage door :-) Garage door is so expensive, to cut the cost you need to use your imagination to lesser the cost and perhaps hire specialist at garage door repair san francisco ca as I have personal experience with them.

  17. What a difference that makes. I love what you have done. We did that with ours, which was originally red. We painted it white because we did not think it would be a good look. But now yours are making me reconsider. I would have never thought that the hardware could look so good on such a variety of colors.

  21. The garage is normally the first thing you see when you pull up to a house. If you are saving for your forever home, changing up your current one is smart. The little fix you did gives your home better curb appeal. An ugly garage door can keep a perspective buyer at bay.
