Dining room is done for now

I have been working on many projects in our new home that are not quite finished yet.  I have managed to get the dining room done (at least for now).  I am still going to change out the cornice board with a different fabric and maybe hang something on each side the mirror. I didn't get the tablescape done yet but hopefully I will get it done before Thanksgiving.

Here is a close up of the buffet.

Here is the close up of the corner cabinet.

I was not able to fit the hutch in the dining room.  I would fit but it had to be on the same wall as the buffet and it looked too crowded.   I only have one wall in this dining room.  There is a wall next to dining room for the formal living so I set it there.

Here is the before picture.  I did take down the panels and painted the room.  It had a faux finish which I didn't really care for.

    1. Thank you. I will be redoing the cornice board and adding new panels. I just haven't had time to pick a new fabric yet. I figured that will be sometime next year. Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. Jody, That is so much nicer, the way you have it. My dining room has no elbow room, let me tell you. . But I am not a formal type, so it works for me. Hope your Thanksgiving in your new home is lots of wonderful memories. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. We moved in on October 3rd and this is the only room that is almost completely finished. The formal living room looks like a tornado hit it. I haven't even begun the basement. I will be lucky to get down there by Christmas.

  8. Wow, Jody I'm a little out of the loop. I haven't been up to date with all my blogs. Your new home looks beautiful. I'm sure it will all take time to have everything perfect. Can't wait to see more.

    1. Thank you Jeanette. I had taken a break from blogging for the move but now that I have gotten a few things done I think that I will be back in full swing. It has been hard not being able to decorate. Unfortunately I did not get to decorate for Fall but I will for Christmas.

  9. Jody, congrats on being in your new home. It will take a while to get everything jus the way you want it. I definitely like the newly painted wall! I have never cared for those faux finishes. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

    1. Thank you Jann. I don't mind faux finishes but this one just didn't look right to me. I actually did a faux finish in the bedroom that my husband is using for an office. It looks more old world. I will be sharing that next.

    1. Thank you Cindy. I thought I would be a little more decorative with the hutch this time instead of using it as storage only. Happy Thanksgiving!
