Spring in the foyer
I have been slowly getting my Spring decorating done around the house. Today I am sharing my foyer table. No one really see this area unless you are heading to the bathroom. My foyer is a little different than others. When you first walk in the front door you step into an oval area that takes you to three different areas. To the right is the office, straight ahead will take you to the dining room, family/kitchen and to the left will take you to the closet, powder room and this table.
I used to have my hall tree in this nook when we first moved in but I decided to put it on the wall when you first walked in the house. I brought the bunny and lantern in from the front porch since it gets really windy here sometimes and I didn't want these to get broken.

Spring brunch on the porch
Today I thought I would share a little tablescape that I did on my front porch. It is perfect for a brunch for two. With the weather becoming warmer who wouldn't want to dine outdoors.
I love these little green plates that I found at Home Goods (yes, my favorite store). They look more like a bowl but are not deep enough. These little flower plates fit nicely inside.
Now I just need some food, drink and good company. Enjoy!

Spring/Easter buffet
Instead of doing my whole dining room today I decided to just decorate the buffet table. At least I got the dining room table done last week. Maybe I can do the hutch and side table later.
I love this bunny with the ruffled collar. He reminds of the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland when he is in the queens court. He is another one of my great finds at Home Goods. Now all I need to do is get him a pair of glasses.
Here is a close up of the grape vine bunny. I wanted to use him on my kitchen table but I didn't have enough room.
Just thought I would do something simple on the buffet this year. I really need to get my house in order still. If you can believe it the hubby is talking about moving. That is something that I am not ready for. Sometimes I would like another house because I enjoy renovating and decorating but not packing.

How to age a lantern
So the other day I decided to drive to a different Hobby Lobby than the one that is near my home. I wanted to see if they had any different lamps. I need to get some for my living room. Of course I was disappointed as I could not find any but there happens to be a Stein Mart next door. We don't have one near my home so I popped in to see what I could find. And of course they didn't have any lamps that I liked but this lantern caught my eye.
It is pretty good sized. It measures 27 inches to the top of the finial and it is 11 inches square. Well of course I was guessing that it would be expensive and boy was I shocked when I saw the price tag. It was only $39.99. I have seen much smaller lanterns for that price. So it came home with me.
I don't like it bright white and I would liked for it to have a metal top. Well, here is what I decided to do. I took the glass out first. Makes it much more easier to work with. Then I took some sandpaper to distress it . I didn't take a picture since it wouldn't show. Next I took one of my brown craft paints to stain it. You could use stain but I like to use craft paint. I just wet a paper towel or rag and dip it in the paint. Then you just rub it on as much as you want and wipe off.
I want the top to be metal but since it is wood I will settle with it being painted. I need to cover it so I won't get paint on the bottom.
It kind of looks like a ghost at this point. Next we go outside and spray paint. I had some left over bronze metallic paint from last year when I repainted the patio furniture.
Here is how it turned out. Not to bad looking even if the top isn't metal.
Now it's time to decorate it. I can't wait to use this all year long in different areas of the house.
Here is what it looks like with the door closed.
Now I need to find a place to put it. It is awful big. I might have to use it by the living room fireplace. I am going to redecorate it anyway. Be sure to check back and see how it looks.

Did I overdo it?
I thought that I had better get my kitchen table done for Easter as it is soon approaching. I think that I might have overdone it a bit. I had a few more items that I wanted to use but ran out of room. It is definitely colorful.
I bought these little ducklings but didn't care for the color so I painted them. I just think that ducklings should be more of a yellow color than cream.
Sorry about this next picture being a little dark. Sometimes I have a hard time getting good shots in the kitchen. It doesn't get that much sunlight even with the blinds open.
Now I just need to finish the dining room, redo the living room mantel and finish the front porch. I might even decorate the back deck and patio below. Realistically I will be lucky if I even get the dining room done today. I better get started.

Spring garden dining room table
Spring has finally sprung in my dining room. The old living room furniture was sold this past weekend and now I have my dining room back. I only have the table done right now and I am hoping to get the rest of the room done by this weekend. I made two more of my leaf placemats last night so I could use them for the table. It wasn't easy as I had my eyes dilated yesterday and everything up close was blurry. I don't recommend using a glue gun when your eyes are dilated. I burned my fingers a few times and even have a blister on my pinky. At least they turned out good even if I couldn't see that well.
I love how Spring flowers coordinate with my mural. I bought the cabbage soup tureen last year at Goodwill. It works perfectly for Spring or a garden theme table.
I have these small votive bunnies at each end. I thought I would put some flowers in them instead of candles.
Sorry for the glare on the plates. I took these pictures this morning before the sun came up and had to have the light on.

Spring front porch 2015
Today the Spring fever bug hit me. With the temp in the 70's I just couldn't stay inside. It got me motivated to decorate the front porch for Spring.
I decided to use lots of color this year. Here are some close ups of the crate area.
I left it simple on the bistro table. No table setting this time.
Here is how the porch looks when you first walk up to it.
I haven't decided what I want to do with the door area yet. Right now I want to concentrate on the dining room since we finally sold the old living room furniture today. I also want to get out into the front yard today and do some cleaning up since all the snow is gone in the front. My iris's are starting to come up plus most of the other flowers.
