Outdoor Fall decor

Well I had a very busy weekend.  We close the shop at 2:00 on Saturdays so the minute I got home I headed straight for the master bathroom and got the grouting done in the shower area.  We were able to get the tub area tiled on Sunday but we still need to do the wall area by the tub.  The tub was harder than the shower since there were more angle cuts and smaller.  I did manage to get the front yard decorated in between.  I didn't go too crazy with the pumpkins this year.  Last year when I bought my pumpkins the cashier asked me if I was going to have  a pumpkin patch.  I was able to scale down this year with only about 18 pumpkins.

Saturday the sky was perfect for  Halloween.  We were out shopping and getting ready to come home when I noticed the sky.  I was hoping that I would be able to get a few pictures of it before the sun went down.

Here a few pictures of the tile work in the bathroom.  The shower is grouted and I will be sealing it tonight so it will look a little darker.

Here is part of the tub area right now.  I would like to get the wall area done tonight if possible.  Please excuse the mess in the hole.  I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Fall foliage

I can't wait for all the trees to change here so I can take a nice long drive.  I was going through some of my old pictures that I took a few years ago.  Here are a couple from a neighborhood called Cherry Hills Village.  It is one area that I would love to live in.

This area reminds me of living in the country only that your neighbors are close.  Here is one of the homes that is one of my favorites.
The next pictures were taken in Sterne Park .
This next one is my favorite picture that I have taken of a landscape.  I need to go back this year and see if I can get more.
This last picture is one that I took in a neighorhood near our shop last year.  I wish my trees in our front yard were this big.
Some of the trees here have already started to change and unfortunately lost most of their leaves from the hail storm we had earlier this week.  That's Colorado for you.

Fall dining room 2014

Fall has finally arrived in my dining room.  This has not been an easy task with that pesky bathtub in the way.  It wasn't easy getting this done on Sunday as we were working on the master bathroom too.  I am proud to announce that we finally got the shower area all tiled and now we need to finish the tub area. I also managed to get a little decorating done on the side.

So here are the pictures of the dining room table.

Next is the buffet area.  I decided to keep it simple this year.

I have an old sofa table that I still need to fix up.  I am thinking about adding a shelf down below and painting it black.  Right now it is holding my left over table decor that I will probably use on the covered deck area.

I was able to get the butler pantry area done also.

Now for a sneak peak at the master bathroom shower.  It hasn't been grouted yet.  I am thinking about using a darker colored grout which I will go get today.  I can't wait to get this bathroom done.  It has been two months now.

I thought I would close with a picture of my tub.  Right now it is coming in handy for holding some of my fall decor so my little dog Kolby can't chew on it.  He loves to chew on my silk flowers.

I am pretty sure that I am the only person right now that has a bathtub in their dining room.  This needs to be out of here before Thanksgiving.

It's amazing what you can find on Ebay

Today just for fun I thought I would search for items from Galva Illinois.  This is the town that my mother came from and it has under 3000 people living there.  We visited every summer when I was young (my grandmother and one of my mother's sister lived there).  You could walk downtown from both of their homes.  Some of my best memories of childhood are from that place.

So here is what I came across.  I found this picture for sale back from 1948.  My grandmother is in this picture. I couldn't believe it.  As they say it's a small world.

Fall bathrooms

I usually don't decorate for the seasons too much in the bathrooms as I don't have much space.  Here is the main level powder room.  It is painted blue with brown accents  so I like to keep with the theme.

I painted the three pumpkins to coordinate and added some glitter.  I don't have much space in the sink area so I only decorated one corner.

Now for the basement bathroom.  The color of my walls are perfect for Fall decor.

We are still working on our master bathroom tiling the shower and bathtub area.   It is hard to work on it in the evening after work.  I am lucky to get one row done a day. I am hoping that this Saturday we can at least get the shower area all tiled.

Fall front porch ( I think I have a pumpkin problem)

Here it is almost the first day of Fall (my favorite season).  The trees are starting to change and it is a little cooler today.  I am not sure if I like the way my front porch turned out.  I think I have too much of a pumpkin theme going on.  What do you think?

I made the pumpkin pillows from a table cloth.  Right now they are pinned.  I didn't have time today to get them sewn but of course that is just one trick of staging.

It is too much yet?  There are a few more by the door.

The front door is the only area with no pumpkins.  How did I do that?
Oh wait I do see one small pumpkin on the bottom right.

Here is the long view of the porch.

I still need to get a rug for the porch and get the yard decorated.  I will probably get that done next weekend.  My tree has started changing color a little bit and has lost some leaves already.  My two tiny burning bushes are bright red also.

It is almost time for long sleeves and scarfs while sipping wine on the porch.  My favorite season.
