Fall hutch and bathroom update

This weekend was very hectic for me.  My husband decided that he wanted to get a line of credit on our house and we were informed on Friday that they would do the appraisal on Monday morning.  At this point the bathroom tile still wasn't done and my house is a disaster area.  So needless to say that I had to kick it in high gear for the weekend and of course we work on Saturday so I didn't get started until after 2 o'clock as that is when we close the shop.  We were able to get the rest of the tile done and I got the trim painted on Saturday.

I spent all day Sunday grouting tile, painting, cleaning and straightening up my whole house.  Today I got up at 5 o'clock to finish what I didn't get done yesterday.  Boy am I beat!  I felt like I was having a showing today.  I was throwing stuff in the washing machine and closets.  Somehow I managed to get my last bit of Fall decorating done the in basement in between.  So here the hutch.

Here is the table by the door.

Now for the update on the bathroom.  Here is what it looks like now.  I still need to do some caulking and we are still waiting on the shower enclosure.  At least I can use the tub now.

Here is the last area we need to finish.  My hubby still needs to get the shelves installed and then I can start with the decorating.

Now I need some help from you.  I am wanting to paint the panels around the tub and the window sills that same dark brown as the cabinet but my hubby says that I am going too far.  What do you think?  Should I paint them dark brown or repaint them white?

Fall is in the kitchen

It's that time of year again when you just can't wait to get the Fall decorations out.  I started decorating indoors on Labor Day weekend.  I like to wait to do the outdoors closer to the end of September.  I thought I would start with the kitchen.  Here is the breakfast area.

Now for the kitchen island.  Some of these pictures turned out a little dark.  I have a hard time getting good pictures in my kitchen since it doesn't get much sunlight coming in.

Here is a close up of the shelves.

I added a few fall touches on the counter tops too.

 Here is a close up.

I tried to get a good picture of the topiaries by the sink but it turned out a little dark on one side.

And the close up.

I tucked a few pumpkins on top of the cabinets.  I usually don't decorate for the seasons up there.

That's all I have gotten done so far.  I will be doing more decorating today.  I have so much fall decor that it takes awhile to go through it all and see what I want to use.  Does anyone else have that problem?  Hopefully I can at least get the living room done today and maybe finish  the dining room.

Semi finished kitchen

Here are a few pictures of my kitchen so far.  I finally got all of the cabinets refinished and the granite counter tops are installed.  Now all we need to get done is the backsplash.

Here is the before picture when we bought the house.
We put in stainless appliances, added a new light above table, made new cornice boards above windows, added shelves to the island and got a pot rack. I still need to make a tablecloth to match and make a curtain for the window on the back door.

I tried to get as many shots as possible without getting the living room furniture in the way.
I love my new fridge with the double freezer drawers.
The corner unit had a microwave oven combo and we put in a double oven instead.  I don't use the microwave that much so I bought a small one to sit on the counter top.
I stood on the coffee table in the living room to try and get a better shot of the island to show off the shelves.  Now I have somewhere to put my cookbooks.
I painted the butler pantry the same as the island since it is off of the kitchen.
Here is a closeup of the granite that we choose.  It is called Colonial Gold.
This is the breakfast nook area with the new light that my wonderful husband installed.  Once we get the back splash done I will be posting the final pictures with everything decorated.

Here is a shot of the front of the island.
