New look for my fireplace mantel

My mantel has a fresh look now that I have taken down the Spring/Easter decor.  This look will stay until Fall.  I have brought back a few old items and added some new ones too.

I added two more candle holders on the left bottom and the box with greenery on the mantel.  I also added some of the white natural balls since I have some placed throughout the room.

I am thinking about changing the drywall columns below the mantel.  I am wanting to add wood and moldings to them and paint them and the mantel a distressed off white that matches my kitchen island.  I will probably be tackling  that this summer.

I have already changed the appearance since we moved in.  The whole fireplace used to be the same color as the walls.  First I added the dark brown to the bottom columns and most recently I added the dark brown to the top.

  9. It's truly amazing what a few themed items can do for a home. The additions of the candles and fall colored plants really tie in with the warm tones of the fireplace. I also commend you for finding items that you will be able to use year after year. I wouldn't mind getting a good book and spending all winter next to this fireplace.
