My Front Yard

Finally got most of the front yard done.  When we moved in last year the plants were overgrown, grass was full of weeds and bare in spots.  I removed all the the old plants and bushes this spring.  It took me two months of Sundays to get the yard into shape.
Here is a picture of the front yard.  I still have lots of work to do in the backyard.  It is even worse than the front.  I probably won't get it all done this year.
This is a close up of my lamp post.  It had three overgrown bushes that I removed.  I planted a clematis in front of the post and add this cool trellis that looks like leaves for it to grow on.  I would like to repaint the house a different color. Maybe next year.

Here is a close up of the trellis.
I would like to change out the wreath on my front door but I have a house finch nest behind it.  They already had 3 babies and now that they are gone the momma has laid three more eggs.

  5. It's lovely and inviting. My sister had the same problem with her door wreath one year. The birds even flew into her home once, scaring her to death. :)

  7. What a charming home. I just spent all last week doing the same thing. It's nice to step back and enjoy the fruit of your labor isn't it?
