My dream kitchen

Today I was checking out some pictures of kitchens on Pinterest and I found one that I would love to have. 

I did some researching and found out this home is from a parade of home in St. George, Utah back in 2009.  The builder is K Welch Construction.  This is a gorgeous home. 

This kitchen has a built in hutch.

This is what the front of the house looks like.

It even has a secret room behind the bookcase in the master bedroom.

The door way in the back has a rock hallway that lead to a jacuzzi.

I would love to have this house but it is 7800 sq ft which is much to large for just the two of us. Chocolate Easter bunny display

So last Sunday I decided to get out of the house and do some shopping.  My first stop was at Home Goods where I saw this beautiful bunny.  I was wanting a dark brown bunny and there he was.  I rushed over to where he was displayed and looked at the price tag.  I couldn't believe my eyes he was only $24.99.  This bunny is two feet tall so I was expecting it to be expensive.  Well of course I snatched him up immediately.  He is perfect for my kitchen island.  I always like to have something tall to put on it.  So here is a little display that I did for Spring.

When I bought the bunny he had a burlap bow around his neck.  I thought that he resembled a chocolate Easter bunny so I removed the bow and replaced it with this blue one that I made.  Now he really looks like a chocolate bunny.

I know that my chalkboard says It's Spring when it really isn't yet but this week is feeling like it.  We are going to have the temps in the 50's and 60's this week.  I am hoping some of the snow in my backyard will melt some this week.

I bought the chocolate eggs at Gordman's last month and they look perfect with my new bunny.

I added some lace on my lampshade that has a touch of blue in it.  It's hard to see it in the pictures but I think it made the lamp coordinate better.  Not too bad for throwing this together at 7:30 this morning.

Some of favorite teacups

With  Springtime officially coming up this month it makes me think of teacups.  I love all the pretty little flowers them.   I really need to get my teacups out of the basement and display them.  Here are a few pictures that I took a few years ago.

I bought the metal dress mannequin at Goodwill and painted it off white and added  one of my favorite teacups.

Pom pom bunnies

I had fun making the bunny bottoms that I put in my egg cups for my funny bunny tablescape.  It only took about 30 minutes to complete all four.

Here is how I made my little bunny bottoms in the egg cups.  I used some yarn, foam, already made pom poms, paint and some hot glue.

First I made the tan pom poms with the yarn.  I haven't made these since I was little.  I wrapped the yarn around my hand 80 times and then tied it together.

Next I cut the loops. Not very pretty at this stage.

Then you shape the pom pom to what size you want with scissors.

I made a pattern for the feet and then cut them out from some tan foam and painted the pads pink.  I tried to cut out small ovals out of the pink foam but they looked pretty rough.  Then I  hot glued them to the pom pom body and also the small pom pom for the tail.

Funny bunny tablescape

I found these cute bunny plates at my local grocery store and couldn't resist.  They had four different ones and I got one of each.  I thought they would make a fun Spring tablescape.

I got these two bunnies at Pier 1 a few years ago and changed out there ribbons.  They originally had brown and white checked ribbons but I thought they would look cuter as a couple.  I made a yellow bow tie for the boy and a pink with flowers for the girl.

I also made they little bunny bottoms inside the egg cups.

Here are the close ups of each of the plates.

These plates were only $3.99 each but I got them on sale for $2.99 each.  I thought they would look good alternating the blue and yellow plates underneath.  Now if we can only get rid of the old living room furniture that is sitting in my dining room.  I am ready to decorate the dining room for Spring but it is difficult when it looks like this.

Early Spring mantel

With all the snow we have had I feel I need some Spring color in the living room.  Today I decorated my fireplace mantle with a simple Spring decor.  Nothing fancy for now just need some color other than earthy colors that I use here.  I will be changing it up later this month.  I think I will also change out the kitchen table today also.  So here is how the mantel turned out.

 

 I think that I might have gone overboard with the flowers in the vase.  It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to but it will do for now.  My yard may be covered in deep snow but at least I have some Spring color inside to perk me up.
