Dreaming of Spring

The weather has been crazy here in Colorado this winter.  Monday was my birthday and it was a nice warm day for a change ( it is usually cold and snowing) and then yesterday we got a dusting of snow in my neighborhood while closer to the city it was just wet and slick.

I love the way the frost looks on the bare trees. This is on the North side of our property.  We still have snow that hasn't melted since December.

I am already dreaming of Spring.  I went to Joann Fabric today and bought some Spring flowers.  I finally got all the Christmas down and put away.  I am hoping to start my Spring decorating this weekend.

Here are some ideas that I found on Pinterest.  I have a few bunny shaped wreaths that I am wanting to revamp.

Another birthday missing my Dad

Today is my birthday.  It was also my dad's birthday.  This is the 21st birthday I have celebrated without him.  You think it would get easier but it doesn't.  I think that us sharing a birthday made us closer as a father and daughter.  I would like to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday in heaven today.  I love you and miss you greatly.

New addition to our family

Today I went to the Denver Dumb Friends League and adopted this cute little boy.  I named him Bailey.  I love how one ear goes up and the other down.  He is very quiet and sweet.  I took some pictures of him here at work today.

Our other dog Kolby is starting to warm up to him.  I am hoping they will be the best of friends.  Of course I will be having to do potty training again.  I hope he gets the hang of it quickly.

New Years Eve past

It is that time of year to look back and reflect.   It is also that time to start making New Years resolutions.  I myself have never been able to keep any.  Today I had planned on setting my kitchen table for the festivities tonight but I find myself coming down with a slight heat cold so I will be lucky to even make it to midnight.

Here is a couple of my past tablescapes.  This one is from our previous house.

This is from last year in our current house.

I am disappointed that I didn't get my table done this year.  I had big plans for it.  Oh well I guess it will keep until next year.

Wishing every a safe and Happy New Year!

Christmas Home Tour

I have finally gotten around to posting my Christmas Home Tour.  I say better late than never.  Let's start with the front porch.
As you come up to my front porch you are welcomed by the urns and lanterns.

Off to the right of the door is my bench.

Please step on up to my front door.

As you enter my home you are welcomed by my foyer.  Straight ahead is the staircase with  my bench.

To the left is my fun Santa display.

To the right is my entry table with some Santa boots.

I added greenery on the staircase railing.  I added the berries and decorations to the garland after I put it up.  It is hard to get a good picture of my stairs with the column blocking the view.  I turned the lights on the garland for these pictures.

I like to decorate this chair that I have by my china cabinet.

Nutcrackers are in the dining room.

The kitchen is more whimsical.

The family room fireplace went more elegant.

The tree is in the formal living room since that room is vaulted.

Thank you for stopping by and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
