Here is how it turned out.
It received a dark brown paint and a lighter brown on the top. I also used some stain on the light brown color which helped bring out the wood grain.
We got some new chairs for the family room so I moved the old ones here in the formal living room. I am still working on this side of the room getting it redecorated. Here is what I have done so far.
I still need to get panels for the cornice boards and I am thinking about painting the white hutch a dark brown. I still need to add the final touches to this room. I was going to get most of this area done on Sunday but this is what happened. A little bit over a foot of snow.
I spent most of my day doing snow removal. It didn't help that my hubby was gone for the day so I had to snow blow the driveway twice. Our driveway is over 5000 sq ft and I can only use the small snow blower. The big one I think weighs as much as I do and I just can't handle it. So needless to say I had to snow blow it once in the morning and once more in the afernoon as it snowed another 5 inches in between. Let's just say that my whole body is sore today and could barely walk down the stairs this morning.

Whew that is a lot of snow. The table is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you. At least the sun is out today and some of the snow on the roads is melting.
DeleteVery well done !! I see often remodeling works on furniture that spoil completely the piece instead of recovering it. Not yours! It came out so beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThank you. It has been needing a makeover for a long time now. I tried to make it look as natural as possible.
DeleteOuch! Enjoy a relaxing day of recovery!

It's a beautiful drop leaf table Jody! I love that it's a family heirloom. I have my husbands grandparents out on my front porch. It was not in nearly as good as shape as yours and painted white, but I love it! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
