Last Fall tablescape

Today I did my last Fall tablescape.  I need to get my tables ready for Thanksgiving next and of course I am already planning for Christmas.  It has been pretty warm here this October so I am having a hard time thinking about Christmas.  Normally here in Colorado it is snowing on Halloween.  Now back to the table.

I have these adorable chickadee Fall plates that I have been dying to use.  I love the little bit of plaid on the side.

I kept the centerpiece simple.  I painted a bird that I already had to look like a chickadee and but him on top of the pumpkin.

Now here is some Fall foliage from my yard.  We don't have too many leafy trees.  Most of our trees are evergreens.

A witching good time

Here is another Halloween tablescape that I threw together today.  I wanted to use my new witch's shoes that I made and I already had the witch plates.

I found this witch hat candle holder at Kohl's the other day and was amazed how well it went with my shoes.

The witch plates have four different sayings.

Just thought I would do a fun table for a little get together.

Mercury glass Halloween decor

It was time to add some Halloween to my mercury glass pumpkins on my black cabinet.  Just a few touches and now it looks a little spooky.

I added my mercury glass skull, poison bottles, a few rats and some spiders.  The purple light strings are bats.

I love the way the lights reflect in the pumpkins.

I found these rats at my local supermarket King Soopers.  They go great with the  mercury glass.

DIY Witch's shoes

I am going to be doing a tablescape in my kitchen this weekend using my witch plates so I was wanting some witch shoes to use for the centerpiece.  Since I was having a hard time finding some that where cheap enough I decided to make my own.  You can make these yourself also.

All you need is a pair of shoes, some duct tape some cardboard and some packing paper. I purchased a pair of shoes at Goodwill that I thought would work.  I got lucky that they had a buckle on them already.

I started by bunching up some of the packing paper into the shape I wanted and taping it to the toe of the shoe.

I then added more tape to the toe of the shoe.

Next I cut out the shape on the cardboard that I wanted to use and taped it to the back of the shoe.

I added more tape to cover the cardboard.

The last steps I did was painting the entire shoe with some of my black craft paint.  I painted the strap for the buckle orange, added black dots to it and then added orange dots to the back of the shoe.  I also used purple glitter to the toe area.  I am thinking about adding another element on the glitter area.  I fell it still needs something more.

Be sure to check back and see how they look with my tablescape this weekend.

Little bits of Fall around the house

I have a few small areas decorated for Fall.  I like to decorate chairs, benches, and small tables around the house. Here are some of those spaces.

This is how my hall tree by the front door looks.  I went for a more natural look to go with the rustic feel of my hall tree.  I only took the picture at the seat area since I didn't decorate it up top.

Next is the chair by my china hutch.  I just put a pillow and a pumpkin on it with some leaves this year.

The last area is where I have this cute green table.  I bet you can't guess where this is.

I tried to copy the picture above with the pots.  I still need to add one more.

I love this rustic spray with the pumpkins and the rusty stars.

Did you guess where this table is at?  It is actually in my toilet closet.  I have never had one this big before.  They are normally just a long narrow space.  Below you can see where the toilet is.

Pretty scary Halloween tablescape

I like to do Halloween decorating more pretty then creepy.  So I think that I combined enough pretty and scary to make this tablescape work.

The black and white theme works well in my kitchen.  The plate setting is more pretty while the centerpiece is a little creepy.  I placed the skull inside my candy dish that looks like skeleton hands.  I just removed the dish and added some spanish moss.

The plates are more pretty.  I first started with a black charger, then a white charger, another black charger, a white plate and last my salad plates.  They have four different designs.

A skull

 A spider

 A pumpkin

 A bat

I just used my script napkins and placed a spider on each one.  I also added some black and white beads and a black and white straw inside the glasses.

I think that I accomplished the look I was going for.  A little bit of scary mixed with some pretty.

Fall lanterns

Today I am sharing all my Fall lanterns that I have done this year so far.  I will probably be doing some on the back deck soon.

Here are a few from my previous home.
