Spring garden dining room table

Spring has finally sprung in my dining room.  The old living room furniture was sold this past weekend and now I have my dining room back.  I only have the table done right now and I am hoping to get the rest of the room done by this weekend.  I made two more of my leaf placemats last night so I could use them for the table.  It wasn't easy as I had my eyes dilated yesterday and everything up close was blurry.  I don't recommend using a glue gun when your eyes are dilated.  I burned my fingers a few times and even have a blister on my pinky.  At least they turned out good even if I couldn't see that well.

I love how Spring flowers coordinate with my mural.  I bought the cabbage soup tureen last year at Goodwill.  It works perfectly for Spring or a garden theme table.

I have these small votive bunnies at each end.  I thought I would put some flowers in them instead of candles.

Sorry for the glare on the plates.  I took these pictures this morning before the sun came up and had to have the light on.

  1. This is a beautiful spring table, perfect for the Easter season and beyond. The salad plates are a wonderful choice with the yellow dinner plate and those gorgeous place mats. Will you be sharing how you made them? I loved the spring decor on the porch too, you have motivated me to get into high gear and get some of my spring decorating done (although I will be sad to see the leprechauns go).

    1. Thank you. I did a post back on February 22nd showing how I made the placemats that you can see at http://southernseazons.blogspot.com/2015/02/diy-leaf-placemats.html

  2. I'm salivating over your mural! It's beautiful for any time of year. I love your bunny votives with the flowers rather than candles. Votives make perfect holders for Iris blooms with a very short stem...a great way to use any flower heads that break off. Thank you for sharing your spring table. It's gorgeous!

    1. Thank you Kim. I love my mural too but not at Christmas. I guess if maybe I decorate with purple and gold it might look good.

  5. I know I'm supposed to comment on the table, but I could not take my eyes off that gorgeous mural! How brave of you to do something like that on the wall! But it just works! So beautiful! It makes me want to go back to Italy, like, right now! That cabbage tureen was such a great find! Everything is just lovely!

    1. Thank you. There used to be an opening on the wall into the formal living room. We enclosed the wall and use the formal living room as an office. You could see the seams a little bit so I put my furniture on the wall but the hubby didn't like it. It was his idea to get a mural. He wanted more of a wood theme but I insisted on a Tuscan theme. The only time of the year I don't care for it much is Christmas. For some reason Christmas red and green doesn't look good. I might do something this year with gold and purple. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

  7. What a beautiful table in a most inviting surrounding. I am crazy about your leaf placemats and impressed that you made them. Is your mural painted or paper?

    1. Thank you. The mural is wall paper. I could have painted it myself but it would take too much time that I didn't have. It came in 8 pieces that overlap each other. It was pretty easy to put up. Have a great weekend!

  8. BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had the creativity, space and funds to decorate like that. Unfortunately, even if I did, between hubby and the kids, it wouldn't stay that way long, LOL. Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty!
