These are a few of my favorite things

I have always loved that song.  I can't believe that I have never seen the movie "The Sound of Music".   I love old movies and watch TCM all the time.  Why have I never watched this movie?  Could it be that I thought it would be boring?  Or maybe because it is such a long movie?  I don't know why but  I am going to make a point to see it this year for sure.  Yankee Candle came out with candles for this song and I only own five of them.  If you can believe it I have a closet full of their candles but that will be for another post.  This year I thought it would be fun to do my table in the basement with my twist of this song.

The candles that I have are bright copper kettles, warm woolen mittens, whiskers on kittens, cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudel.  I added my kettle, some mittens, brown paper packages tied up with sting, a pair of geese and some bells to represent door bells and sleigh bells.

The bottom of the table I decorated with some of the  things that I like.

Well that is my version of the song and like I said I am definitely going to watch the movie.

UPDATE 12-15

I watched the movie Sunday afternoon and I have to report that I liked it very much.  I wasn't too sure since it was a long musical.  It was a little slow in the beginning but I stuck with it and I am glad that I did.

  1. I love these candles, had no idea Yankee Candles had them! I must go to the store as soon as possible! lol. You absolutely must see the Sound of Music. My mom took me to see it as a little girl in 1964? or 1966? When it first premiered at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. I have watched at least part of it every time it is on television. Julie Andrews' voice is perfection. Please watch it, at least some of it! Not boring at all. Dr. Zhivago, now That film was boring. All snow.........

    1. I don't think that they have these candles anymore. I think that they are discontinued. I bought these last year online and this was all they had. I watched The Sound of Music today and I was very pleased with it. Sometimes I am not to sure about musicals but I did enjoy this one. I agree with you about Dr. Zhivago. I thought that it was boring and I didn't like the ending. Have a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by.
