Christmas plaids on the front porch

Welcome to my front porch.  Can you  believe that it only took me two hours to get this done.  It probably took so long since it was 20 degrees out when I decided to tackle the porch.  What can I say, call me crazy but I only have Sundays to work outside and of course it had to be cold.
I love plaids so I thought that I would continue with the woodland theme for the front porch as I did in the sitting room.  I love this pillow that I got at Home Goods.   I wish they had more than one.

I also got these pillow there (at least they had more than one).

I always have a hard time decorating around my front door.  No one can see it from the street since you enter the porch from the side and of course it is difficult to take good pictures as the railing is in my way.

So here is what you see when you walk up to the porch.

I  thought I would try and get some night time pictures with the lanterns and some candle light.

  46. So pretty. Makes me wish it was warm enough here to actually use my sun porch. I have one lonely tree out there now, but making a space like this would be so much fun. You did an amazing job.

    1. Thank you. I wish that I had a sun porch again. We used to have one about 5 houses ago that we put electric baseboard heating in. We have a covered deck on this house that is much bigger than the front porch but it is way to cold here in the winter to use it and of course the snow blows in there.

  47. Oh my goodness, 92 comments already! Well, count mine too, please. I saw your link at Tweak It Tuesday at Brenda's Cozy Little House and since I adore plaids, I clicked instantly. Too bad people can't really hang out on your porch during the winter, it's sooo gorgeous, LOL! Unless that 20 degree F day was a fluke? Is it really 70 and sunny where you live now? Regardless, you've certainly captured the essence of the holidays in those wonderful plaids, as far as I'm concerned. There is just nothing that says "Christmas" to me like plaids, as my several pairs of flannel PJs can attest. Happy Holidays and thanks for the wonderful porch design!

    1. I wish that it was 70 degrees here. Past few days have been in the high 40's and low 50's. I just checked the weather and we are going to get temps in the 60's and 50's for the rest of the week but of course Sunday will only be in the 30's with a 90% chance of snow. At least I don't have any outdoor Devore I need to do. Thanks for stopping by.

  51. Good Morning Jody, Wow, you must have drank a whole pot of coffee to get this done in 2 hours . . . amazing!
It is absolutely beautiful. You must not have the winds that we have here. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I was chasing my glider cushions across the yarn, LOL. I love your plaid inspired design, it is so warm, cozy and welcoming :)
    Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you. It would have taken me less time to decorate if it was warmer. I had to keep going in because my hands were freezing. My porch only looked like this for the picture as we get strong winds here too. I don't have any of the pillows out there anymore. Also the throw, the table decor, picnic basket, thermos and the tree on top of the boxes are gone. So far everything else has stayed in place. My chair cushions are tied to the chairs so they are not a problem. Merry Christmas to you too and a Happy New Year!
