french country hutch

I had a teaser at the end of my last post and here is the results.  I took two different pieces of furniture and made a hutch.  The top part belongs to another piece that we use in my husbands business.  We purchased it for $25.00.  The bottom is a sofa table that we also purchased for the business but then decided to use bookcases instead.  It cost us $20.00.

When you first step into our basement there is an area that has plumbing for a wet bar but really not enough room to put any furniture in since you also go out the door to the backyard from there.  Here is a picture from the bottom of the stairs. To the left I have a table with four chairs for playing games and cards.  The plumbing for the wet bar is next to where I placed the table.  To the right you step into the family room but we use it as a workout room since it really isn't that big.  Beyond the workout room is one bedroom and the furnace room.  To the left is the bathroom, another bedroom that I use as my craft room and a storage room.

As I said I really don't know what to use this area for so I just have my left over furniture in there.  Please ignore the mess as I am still working on most of the furniture and the placement of it also.
As you can see this looks more like a really wide hallway than a room that is functional.  I don't know why there is a bump in where I have the bench.  Now here are the pictures of the cabinet that you see on the right before I painted them.

Now here it all painted.
I have it decorated right now but I still want to add more to it.  Here is what it looks like right now.
