I thought I would share some of the professional pictures that were taken of my kitchen for our listing. Boy I am sure going to miss my large kitchen. These were taken in the evening with the lights on. I think they turned out pretty good.

It's official
Today we went under contract on another house. This one is more then I wanted to pay but it has a great yard that is .72 acres. The down side is the rooms in the house are smaller then ours. It is a much bigger house but it has more bedrooms and it has what I call a useless formal living room that is vaulted. I guess that we will have to use it for a game room since the basement is small. At least the basement has surround sound built in so we can watch movies down there. Plus it has a small bar area. We will have to use the bedroom down there for the hubby's gym since all that is down there is a bedroom, bathroom and family room. I have included some pictures from the listing however they don't show the front and it only has one picture of the yard.
Did I mention that it had a firepit and pond with waterfall on the lower deck? It has a balcony off the master bedroom and downstairs office plus a large covered deck on the back and a wrap around front porch that is covered. I might have to buy more outdoor furniture to fill all these areas.
The kitchen is smaller than mine and it doesn't have a pantry only the cabinet pantry but at least it has newer cabinets and nice granite counter tops. I just wish the double ovens were big like mine. These are only 24 inch where mine are 30 inch.
Above are pictures of the bar and family room in the basement. I think that I am going to add some shelves over the sink area.
I love the updated stairs with the wrought iron and they are wood. I won't be doing much renovation with this house just mostly painting and decorating. We might fix the vanities in all the other bathrooms as they are unusually low. I am pretty short and they hit me maybe about 6 inches above my knee.
We are suppose to close at the end of September so I might not get my Fall decorating done on time this year. Today we also put our house on the market and I hope that it sells soon since we are going to stuck with a big mortgage on this house if we can't close on ours at the same time.

My summer front porch
Since I am taking a break from house hunting I decided to fix up the back corner of my front porch today. I just wanted to do something simple for now. I love to use sunflowers for summer and fall. For some reason I have been drawn to yellow and orange for a few years now. I love their vibrant colors.
I love using my crates in this corner. Until I can find something to replace them they will stay for awhile.
I was going to use my pillows that say summer on the bench but I thought these would look nice since you live, laugh and love on a porch too.

A little wine in the garden
After a hard morning working in the garden I could use a relaxing place to sit and have a glass of wine. I have this little area that stays shaded most of the day and I thought it would be the perfect spot to put my little green bistro set.
Now of course I will not be drinking any wine this morning but this is perfect for late afternoon or early evening. I also put some of my pots around the table since this area doesn't have any flowers.
I think that some little lights in the bushes would be nice for the evening. I might have to see about putting out some Christmas lights.

I am ready to give up
House hunting sucks! It seems like the only homes coming up for sale are townhomes, small homes or homes way out of our price range. When one does come on the market that looks promising it always seems to fall short when I see it in person. I still see the house that got away and always compare all the homes I see to it. I was really looking forward to getting that house and redoing it. For the first time I was going to be able to design my own kitchen. I have always had to live with someone else's kitchen. Oh sure I have been able to change out appliances, counter tops and back splashes but I never get to change out the cabinets. Our current home I painted to cabinets as I don't care for oak cabinets.
I have been depressed lately as I have nothing to do but sit around. I packed all my decorating dishes away and have been keeping the house clean. I think that I am going to unpack the dishes and start redecorating again. At this point I don't see us moving anytime soon so why should I be unhappy. I have an idea for an area in our backyard that I am hoping to get done on Saturday.

My front yard garden
Since I put out the flag today for the 4th of July I thought I would get a few shots of the front garden. I love the way a house looks with the flag hanging by the porch. I changed out the front plantings two years ago since there was no color in the yard when we moved in.
Since my birdbath doesn't hold water anymore I like to put annuals in it. The petunias have gotten pretty big in two weeks.
I wish that my clematis was in bloom on the light post right now. It already bloomed and is getting ready for more. I love my vine looking trellis that it grows on.
Up by the steps I didn't want to plant anything since it is close to the foundation. Instead I like to put containers with annuals. I bought these containers new for this year and planted the same annuals in them to match.
I am hoping that my house has good curb appeal for when we place it on the market. We are still looking for a new house. It seems like most of the houses coming on the market are townhomes. My hubby would like to have one but I am not ready for that yet. I still want a big yard so I can garden. I have always loved to garden and mow the yard. I am not sure where I got that from since neither one of my parents did gardening. My mom's version of gardening was her plastic geraniums that she kept in two crocks in the living room.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!
