I went to one of the antique malls this past Sunday since it was too cold to work in the yard. I went to the Colorado Antique Gallery since it is the closest to my house. I took a few pictures of some booths that caught my eye. These were taken with my phone so they are not the best quality. I would love to have a booth here but I just don't have the time since I work 6 days a week. Also I heard that there was a two year waiting list.
Someone there has two booths that are all plaid. I took pictures but they turned out too blurry. It was busy there that day and it's not easy trying to take a picture when people are always walking by.
I found a few that I would like to buy but they were a bit pricey so I will think about it.

Pillow problem and a duck in a basket?
I think I have a problem with pillows. I just can't seem to stop buying them. Lately I have been buying too many. I just can't seem to resist all the beautiful patterns. My hubby called me a pillow hoarder the other day. I just can't help it. Does anyone else have this problem? This is what I am talking about.
It might not look like a lot but there are many underneath that you can't see. I will be using most of these in the family room for the different seasons.
I also have been collecting soup tureens. Every time I go to a Goodwill I have to check for one. I found one the other day. It is a duck in a basket. It is in excellent condition. No chips at all. It was only $6.99. I just have to find a place to put it.
It looks like I have three weakness right now, roosters, soup tureens and pillows. I wonder what will be next.
Here is an update on the house finch nest on my front porch. I was able to get a picture of the nest with the eggs. I only thought there were three but to my surprise after I took the picture (which I have to hold the camera above the nest as it is above eye level for me) that there are five eggs. Last year she laid three. I hope these survive as they are not as protected from other birds as they were last year.

New and improved laundry room
A while back I posted my updated laundry room. In the meantime I got a new washer and dryer and finished the final touches. Here is a recap of what the cabinets looked like when we moved in. This is a picture of a cabinet in my master bath as I forgot to take before pictures of the laundry room. All of our cabinets in the house looked like this.
Now here are some pictures of the cabinets after I painted them.
My hubby built all the new shelves and we installed a new countertop and faucet. Unfortunately we had to keep the small sink as it was made custom for this cabinet. All the other sinks were too big.
Now for the updated pictures. I got a new front load washer and dryer. Where have they been all my life. I love them!!
I added a few new decor items and now I am finally done. Check off another room on the list. This shoe bench has been in my family as long as I can remember. It was about the same color of the cabinets and pretty beat up so I painted it.

Colorado tour of homes
We have two areas that are across from each other here in the Denver Metro area. They are called Greenwood Village and Cherry Hills Village. I would love to live in either one of these areas. They have some older homes and newer homes but they all blend in together.
A few years ago I was out driving around and decided to take a few pictures of some of my favorite homes. There are many more that I love. Here are some in Greenwood Village.
Now just across the street is Cherry Hills Village. Here are the some of the houses that I love.
Now I also have a favorite house here in Littleton. It is over by the old down town area. I don't care what the inside looks like, I would buy this house if it was ever for sale. You can always change the inside.

Past tablescapes
I was looking back at some of my past tablescapes that I had done. Most of them are for Fall as it is my favorite season.
The rooster in the first picture is now on my dining room table. Here is what he looks like now.
I will be adding some more touches once I take down the Spring decor.

Surprise on the front porch
A surprise on my front porch? What could it be? Here it is. Can you see it?
Maybe you can now.
It looks like my house finch couple from last year has returned. Last Spring they made a nest inside of my grapevine wreath on the front door. I didn't put up a wreath this year because I knew we were getting the new storm doors. She laid three eggs and they all hatched. After the babies left she laid two more eggs which hatched but I think that something go into the nest because I found the babies dead one day. Poor mama bird she was crying for her babies when I took the wreath down. I hope I get to see here babies this year. No eggs yet.

What's in the closet?
I didn't think that I would get it done but I did. I cleaned out the entry closet and painted it. I have never liked a white closet. I don't know why when people repaint a house they leave the closets white. When we bought this house they repainted the upstairs but not the basement (all white).
I decided to paint the closet a yellow. I didn't have enough paint leftover from the laundry room so I mixed it with two other yellows and an off white. So what do you do when you run out of paint for the ceiling ( I don't like white ceilings either) and you can have more mixed because you combined colors? You improvise.
Here is the before picture.
I think that it blends in well and of course it is only the coat closet. I was also able to get the cabinet done that I wanted to put in here under the window. I love the oval window that is in the closet not sure why they put it there but I still love it. Here is what the cabinet looked like before.
Here it is in the closet. I am going to get some bins for the shelves so I can put hats and gloves in there.
The cabinet fits perfectly and it clears the air vent on the floor under the window. I know that it is the top of a hutch but it was at Goodwill for $12.99 and it was the right size. I wish they had the bottom piece also. One more area done about seven or eight more to go. Now I just have to get new closet rods so I can hang everything back up. The old ones don't fit right and the previous owner used cardboard to make them fit.
